Reading Notes: Ramayana Part C

Ramayana Part C Notes 

This section of the Ramayana is after Sita is captured and Rama is trying to find and save Sita. He mostly relies on help from his ally Hanuman who did a lot to help him. Hanuman also has undiscovered powers that he ends up acquiring which really helps Rama tremendously. Below is a picture of Sita in exile, posted on Wikipedia and created by Raja Ravi Varma.

Focus on one character 

Hanuman 
  • Was the monkey who saw Sita being abducted
    • takes her fallen jewelry and uses it to convince Rama 
    • Agrees to help find Sita 
  • Basically was the hero of Sita and of the Story, not Rama 
    • Got to the island Sita was trapped at
    • Killed everyone on the island and made sure she was safe 
    • Saves Rama from the imposter Sita 
    • convinced the mermaids to not destroy the bridge 
    • Used his body to help the soldiers get across the bridge 
  • Was a very large Monkey who was also the son of a Deva
    • when he finally remembered his powers he is able to:
      • Change his size 
      • He turns gold 
      • is able to fly
