Famous Last Words: Final Day

(Meme posted on class announcements for May 6th)

This week I actually did work on my creative writing. I have not posted it yet but last night I had written out a microfiction about a fantasy character I am interested in. I decided to do it after reading through another classmate's blog. They had written microfictions about their Dungeons and Dragons character and his background. His stories were so interesting, so I decided to try and try a little mini-story about a character I had been thinking about creating for D&D. It was so much fun writing that. I used to really love writing, but have been so burnt out from college that I had kind of hated it. It was nice to actually want to write something again, and it was nice for the words to flow smoothly again because they have not done that for a few years.

Now other people's writing that caught my attention was the microfictions about a D&D character I mentioned above. I think what made that story successful is that be only conveyed what was needed to understand the character and not an entire bibliography about them. I feel like that is something that I struggle with because I have this idea in my head and I want to accurately convey what I'm thinking so I'll drown the idea in extra words that are not needed.

Since next week I will be done with school for a while I plan on just relaxing and recovering. On top of school and the pandemic, I've had other things that have been extremely stressful, and I'm looking forward to giving those things my full attention so I can finally find some peace. This summer, after I deal with those things, will be so nice because this will be the first time in my life that I'm not in school so I will be able to focus on things I am actually passionate about.
