Extra Reading Notes: The Indian Storybook, part A
Character Charting
(Nila, from the Ramayana, posted on Wikipedia)
Greatest Strength
Rama: had an overabundance of "strength, skill, bravery, and beauty".
Lakshmana: was extremely loyal, and would give up his life in an instant for his brother.
Sita: had a lot of inner strength and you can see this in how she was strong enough to survive in exile with Rama, she was also able to leave a trail for them when she was kidnapped.
Ravana: was literally his strength, he was invincible against everything.
Hanuman: his problem solving and observation skills, which is was helped get the entire group through the whole epic. Without him, Rama never would have won.
Greatest Weakness
Rama: his greatest weakness was not shown in this part, however, he is too easily swayed. He first did not believe his wife was faithful, and then sent his wife away went people gossiped, even though her innocence was proven.
Lakshmana: was too willing to sacrifice himself.
Sita: was her pride, and/or pettiness, which can be seen by how she tries her hardest to avoid meeting Rama again, and then when he asks her to test herself again she just lets the god take her. That was a very petty move.
Ravana: besides humans, it was also his arrogance since he did not even consider an entire species a threat, which caused his downfall.
Hanuman: in my opinion, he seemed too trusting. It seemed like he had just met Rama but was almost willing to die for him
